Dear Jimmy, thanks so much for publishing your DVD. I've been playing guitar for over 30 years but only as rhythm player, writer and producer. Playing lead guitar is ridiculously hard for me because there is so much that I don't know or understand. Your DVD has given me considerable insight as to what I was lacking technically and frankly, just plain didn't know. watched the lesson today after I got it in the mail, thanks Jimmy, the pattern is not one that I had seen before, and it is a good useful soloing pattern that can be learned in 10 minutes, and Jimmy explains how to use it for major and minor chords, Jimmy also does a pentatonic pattern on the DVD, Jimmy is definitely having fun making the DVD and has a suprise jam at the end. The package includes the pattern printed out on a piece of paper so its easy to remember and a CD of backing tracks which I have not played yet.

I have enjoyed the DVD, and have found it very informative and useful.  I have viewed it many times, and I have been working the patterns.
 
My ear for transposing melodies to the guitar from what I hear on recordings is suboptimal.  I have been trying to work through this for years.

The good thing is that it does achieve what it sets out to be – a jargon-free, straightforward approach to melodic soloing that the guitar novice will totally understand. It’s NOT “Rock Discipline” or “Speed Kills” and it doesn’t set out to be. I'ts not a “killer licks” crash course or – and thank God for this - a gimmicky “Master the Fretboard Before Lunch” rip-off. Jimmy Murray is legit.
